A Year From Now: The Story We're Building
We're new, and we're honest about it. This December, the Virginia Blue-Collar Tool Foundation puts its first four Apprentice Tool Grants into graduates' hands. So we can't yet tell you a one-year-later success story — those chapters haven't been written. But we can tell you exactly what we're building toward, and invite you to be part of the beginning.
Picture next fall
A year from now, four Virginia graduates who finished a CTE program and earned a real certification will have spent months on the job — not delayed, not stuck, not watching the opportunity pass because they couldn't afford a kit. They'll have shown up day one with their own professional tools, because someone made sure of it. That's the story we're setting up right now.
Why we started before we had to
The IRS approved us ahead of schedule, and we decided not to sit on the paperwork. The founding board funded the first four grants themselves and covers every operating cost — down to the credit-card fees — so that 100% of every outside gift becomes tools. In January we'll announce how many grants the full 2027 cycle will fund, and every gift between now and then raises that number.
The promise we're making
When those first graduates are working, you'll hear about it — real names, real trades, real photos from the field, with their permission. No glossy annual report. Just proof. If you give now, you're not a latecomer to a finished story; you're a founding supporter of the first chapter.
